Search Tips

To enter a query into the search, just type in a keyword or a keyphrase and hit the 'go' button. Our database searches for keywords/keyphrases found in the resource title or keywords field as entered during the submission process.

Choosing a Keyword: For best results, it's important to choose your keyword wisely. Keep these tips in mind:

  • Use only one word at a time unless searching for a specific keyphrase. If you enter more than one word our database will recognize this as a keyphrase.
  • Try the obvious first, making your keyword as specific as possible. For example, if looking for a resource on weddings, enter 'weddings' rather than 'marriage ceremony.'
  • Use words likely to appear in the resource database. For example, Prayers, Hymns, Baptism and so on.

Choosing Keyphrases: Search for complete phrases by entering more than one word. Keyphrase searches are especially useful when searching for a specific activity. For example, if looking for a resource on hymns, enter 'wedding hymns,' or 'baptism hymns.'

Keep in mind the database will only list resource documents which contain the search string exactly as typed (except for case) in either the document title or keywords field during the submission process.

Capitalization: Our database search is not case sensitive. All letters will be understood as lower case. For example, searches for 'Weddings' and 'weddings' will return the same results.
